<p><b>TASTING NOTES</b>
<br />“Chenin Blanc is truly one of the noble white varieties that can make a wine of quality and style when grown in the right area. Its Old World roots can most readily be traced back to the Loire region of France where it is grown in abundance. Our Chenin Blanc vines are 30-years-old and located at our Horse Heaven Vineyard, which slopes down towards the Columbia River. The wine has a beautiful floral character with aromas of ripe cantaloupe, juicy pear and a hint of clove spice. The palate delivers refreshing fruit and natural crisp acidity along with an underlying richness that comes from the vine age. <p><b>VINTAGE</b>
<br /></p>

<li>A “perfect” ripening season with full crop yields, and restrained sugar levels led to outstanding wines from Washington state’s Columbia Valley in 2008.</li>
<li>Delayed slightly by cool spring weather and a moderate summer, harvest began 10 days later than normal.</li>
<li>Warm weather in August provided ideal ripening conditions for grapes across all varietals and harvest was quickly ramped up in order to obtain fruit at the optimum ripeness.</li>

<b>WINEMAKING</b><li> The juice was fermented for 2 weeks in stainless steel.</li>
<li>The cold tank fermentation using fruit forward yeasts was designed to preserve Chenin Blanc’s crisp fruit-driven characteristics. <br /></li>
